Today a request was issued by my good friend Ben, to complete a guest post for this new blog, RhodeWorx. How could I ever say no to Ben? Furthermore, how could I not say – I’ll have it done in time for tea! You see me and Ben are very good friends. We always have each others back and are constantly on hand to help the other whatever the issue – just as true friends should be.
I first met Ben at Leeds Beckett University in 2013. We were both enrolled in the Entertainment Management course graduating in 2016; an amazing achievement for us both. We worked on many projects together and it was here I developed a thirst for scriptwriting and video editing after Ben had introduced me to the basics of film making or vlogging. He even helped me with my highest marked piece of work ever submitted at University; a mockumentary I wrote, produced and directed on moral panics. The brief was to create a piece of mass media about the mass media so with Ben’s help on visual and audio production I created Bananas: The Unpeeled Truth.
As our University adventure sadly drew to a close me and Ben have stayed in touch and we speak daily. Ben has taught me the basics of blogging, website development, hosting, content creation and much more invaluable information which is perfect for me and has quickly become a passion.
With his help, I have successfully built my second personal blog website (www.justjameslund.me) after learning the key concepts on a previous endeavour. Without Ben’s help, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve the launch and progression of my current site. He has fostered the interest of blogging within me and for that, I am very grateful.
My blog centres around my multiple health issues as well as my interests. I have primary immune deficiency and underwent a life-saving bone marrow transplant in 2003, at age 9. This has resulted in numerous ongoing health conditions which I am slowly working my way through writing about. As well as this I like to blog about sport, politics, side hustling, inspirational stories and being an accomplished eBay seller in the basics of private selling. I want to blog about my health conditions to help other people with similar health problems. I know how lonely and isolated certain medical conditions can sometimes leave you feeling. You are not alone. Reading my articles may help you to realise that and help you live your life as best as you can.
I produce a tri-weekly video blog on Instagram which I call ‘The JustJamesLund News Review’ where I look at three eye-catching news stories from the day and pass comment them in a lighthearted, comical way to help people laugh their way through their day. Follow me on @justjameslund and watch my story on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. More highlights are pinned to my profile as well.
In the future, I would like to launch my YouTube channel to really reach out to people like me who have multiple health conditions. But also to make people laugh in general, I firmly believe a day without laughter or learning is a day wasted. So head on over to my site, www.justjameslund.me and follow my media channels if you don’t mind. Join me on my journey of personal growth, to empower, encourage and entertain others just like me and you!
